About Airstream
Airstream is an American brand of travel trailer easily recognized by the distinctive shape of its rounded and polished aluminum coachwork. This body shape dates back to the 1930s and is based on the Bowlus Road Chief, an earlier all-aluminum travel trailer designed and built by Hawley Bowlus, the same designer and engineer who also oversaw the construction of the Spirit of St. Louis.
Airstream trailers and RVs are manufactured in Jackson Center, Ohio, United States. The company, now a division of Thor Industries, employs more than 800 people , and is the oldest in the industry.

About Airstream Classic Motorhomes
Airstream began building classically-styled motorhomes in 1974 under the Argosy brand. Argosy’s were painted from the factory. They were available in 20′, 24′, 26′, and 28′ models with various interior layouts. In 1978 Airstream began producing motorhomes in clear-coated aluminum. In 1984, they introduced the 34.5′ model. The 345 was the first to have a tag axle. Airstream continued producing classic motorhomes until 1993, the largest one being in 37′ model.
In 1993 there was a major facelift, with a sleeker nose, and flush windows, and it became known as the Land Yacht. This model continued until 1997.
It is not known how many Classic Airstream Motorhomes were produced. Airstream made a lot custom builds, the Astrovan, a version built for NASA to transport astronauts to the launchpad, being the most famous one.
About Beastie
Beastie was born in 1984. She has an interesting history. Her first owner was the Dometic Corporation. Dometic bought the Airstream for $57,711 and used it for a number of years to travel across the country, attending trade shows to showcase its cutting-edge RV appliances. Beastie was stuffed with appliances: 2 AC units, 2 hydronic cental heating systems, a separate heating/ac system for the bedroom, fridge/freezer, separate ice maker, central vacuum system, microwave, water heater, stove, food center, and trash compactor.
Beastie was sold in 1992, and again in 2008. Most recently Beastie changed ownership in 2020 and has undergone significant remodeling since. Mechanically all major parts (brakes, hoses, cooling, suspension) have been replaced. The interior was completely removed in order to repair the flooring. The original layout and many of the original features were preserved, including the overhead cabinets, couch, chairs, dinette and control center above the kitchen countertop. The new design follows midcentury modern design principles with focus on clean lines, beautiful materials and minimal ornamentation. All electronics were replaced and made smart.
